Rapid response for critical services
Since 2013 we have been working with UK Government departments to deliver critical, Digital by Default services that are straightforward to use and accessible to everyone.
We have been a key delivery partner for HMRC Digital since 2013, kicking off with our design and delivery of the Multi-channel Digital Tax Platform (“MDTP”), a microservices-based platform that underpins HMRC’s digital services, and named Digital Project of the Year at the 2015 and 2016 UK IT Industry Awards.
We helped the Home Office design and deliver the initial release of UK Visa Applications service handling visa applications from China in March 2015. The service was one of the UK Government Digital Service’s totemic ‘exemplar’ projects, delivered to be Digital by Default – a continuously improving service that sets the standard for how digital solutions can enhance the Government’s ability to offer straightforward, accessible services. The service won Best Public Sector Project, Computer Weekly 2015.
The demand for new digital services is unprecedented and government departments are under pressure to start projects and deliver services faster than ever. All the while maintaining reliability and scalability to ensure critical services are delivered to the public.
Being able to respond to the emerging demand is critical, however ensuring the right services are delivered and minimising the work required to deliver these services is even more important. Our rapid service design offering provides a lean framework to ensure the right services are built to fit into existing processes and minimise the time and cost to get a new service live.
Many government services gather information from businesses and the public to support service delivery. Our UX Forms service, a digital service accelerator, can deliver services in days to weeks, instead of months.
We recently created and launched a live call handling service for Covid-19 cases via UX Forms in 5 days.
Mobile applications are becoming another critical channel to engage the public and to enable public sector workers to deliver services. Our mobile accelerator service can develop new applications in weeks instead of months.
We delivered the first working prototype of a mobile app to provide a front line service to support for a European government respond to the Covid-19 pandemic in 6 days.
These new services have to be immediately scalable and reliable. Our build, run and operate service has built digital services and platforms that cope seamlessly with large scale events such as HMRC’s Self Assessment peak and Black Friday for retail clients.
We have consultants we can rapidly deploy to deliver critical public sector services at pace and at scale. We have a global network skilled in remote working that can provide these services.
