Building a technology community: G-EE-K Talks officially arrive in Australia
Australia’s tech community just got a little more exciting — G-EE-K has officially landed!
In September we hosted our very first Sydney G-EE-K talk, welcoming tech enthusiasts to the city for a night of technology discussions, networking, and, of course, pizza.
Held in the Harrison AI event space, it marked the first time Equal Experts has brought its in-depth technology discussion series Down Under. The response couldn’t have been better with the sell-out event welcoming a vibrant mix of EE network members and new faces from the Sydney tech community.
Cutting-edge technology conversations from industry leaders
Our debut G-EE-K Australia event featured Nick Williams, EE Australia’s Principal Engineer, who delivered a talk titled “How to design, build, and operate event-driven distributed systems.” His thought-provoking session invited the audience to discuss whether event-driven architecture is solving modern software challenges or just creating new ones.
With years of delivery experiences across the UK, Europe and Australia, Nick shared his insights from leading complex projects across retail, finance and government organisations as well as evidence-based approaches on how to operate distributed systems effectively. It was followed by a lively Q&A session and further stimulating discussions which lasted until the very end of the event.
Attendees walked away with actionable insights that they can apply directly to their own work, whether they’re implementing event-driven architecture or looking at ways to future-proof their systems.
Our G-EE-K events are uniquely positioned to be able to share insights from tech leaders like Nick who have twice the industry-average experience solving complex business problems with cutting-edge technology solutions.
Bring together a community of like-minded technologists
At Equal Experts, we’re all about empowering people with knowledge and fostering community. One of our core EE principles is to uplift teams, elevate skills and build capabilities both within our network and beyond. We love creating havens of knowledge sharing and connection building, helping to foster the professional growth of not just our Equal Experts network members but also the wider technology community in which we operate.
G-EE-K is more than just an opportunity for detailed technology talks, the events demonstrate these values by bringing together like-minded people for an evening of insightful discussions and informal networking. By running these events, we can inspire fresh ideas and share innovative approaches that our attendees can take back to their own organisations to drive meaningful change and foster a culture of innovation.
This is just the start of G-EE-K Australia and we’ll be inviting more highly experienced industry practitioners to share their insights at future events in Sydney and Melbourne.
Watch out for details of our next G-EE-K Australia event coming soon and contact the EE Australia team if you’re interested in learning more about the Equal Experts network.
