Moving past AI hype in Australian Healthcare: Join our research

There is no shortage of opinions on AI right now. Yet, when we speak with healthcare leaders across Australia, we keep hearing the same thing.  They’re looking for actionable insights that go beyond generic statements and hype.

They want to know what’s actually happening on the ground in our local hospitals, clinics and care facilities.  Essentially, they want to hear from their peers about what has worked, what didn’t deliver, what different approaches were taken, and how to navigate the practicalities of AI without losing sight of what matters most: delivering safe, effective care.

That’s why Equal Experts Australia is working with leaders across the sector on a research piece in 2026 to get a clearer picture of how to approach AI by Design in Healthcare.

Why this research matters now

AI continues to shape the future of healthcare, with 75% of leading healthcare providers in Australia experimenting with solutions to enhance care and streamline operations.  But with tight budgets, workforce demands, rising patient expectations, regulatory frameworks and constant safety concerns, there is little room for trial and error.  AI is already starting to influence decision-making, however local information about its real-world value in healthcare is still hard to find.

Our research aims to pull back the curtain. We want to find out where the real value is, and how teams are keeping patients and clinicians at the centre of innovation. We’re also looking at what makes AI different from the digital transformations of the past, and if it’s changing the way we approach culture, data, implementation, and governance.

How you can get involved

We’re looking for real, frontline experiences of AI in healthcare.  During the first few months of 2026, our team will be speaking with and gathering insights from organisations at every stage of AI adoption across hospitals, primary care, aged care, and digital health.

We know your time is valuable, so there are two ways you can share your perspectives.

  1. A conversational AI survey: Let our chatbot guide you through a short series of questions as an easy way to provide your insights in your own time, with minimal effort.
  2. A short interview: A confidential chat with our team to discuss your experiences with AI in healthcare.

Insights for healthcare professionals

At Equal Experts, our values focus on learning, sharing insights, and building communities to connect like-minded people together, so the insights and perspectives we gather won’t disappear into the void.  The result will be a detailed report filled with key findings, emerging best practices and pitfalls to avoid.

By taking part, you’ll help create a more grounded, evidence-based picture of AI maturity in Australia’s healthcare sector.  You’ll also join a community of like-minded healthcare leaders and get early access to the insights gathered to take back to your own teams to help inform your healthcare organisation’s AI roadmap and implementation approaches.
