Equal Experts is hosting a free in-person Expert Talks event in Munich on February 12, 2026, bringing together local technology leaders and practitioners to explore one of the most pressing challenges facing organisations today: modernising legacy technology with AI in a responsible, practical way.
Titled “Breaking the legacy barrier – Accelerating technology modernisation with AI”, the event focuses on how AI can support modernisation efforts across complex technology estates. Rather than positioning AI as a silver bullet, the talks will centre on real-world experience: where AI can help, where it cannot (yet), and how teams are applying it alongside strong engineering practices.
Legacy systems remain a significant constraint for many organisations, limiting speed, resilience and innovation. At the same time, large-scale modernisation programmes are often high risk and disruptive. This event creates space for an open discussion about how AI is being used today to better understand legacy codebases, reduce complexity, and support incremental change.
The evening will feature short practitioner-led talks, followed by interactive discussion and networking. It is designed for tech leaders, architects, and software engineers who are navigating modernisation challenges in their own organisations and want to learn from others facing similar constraints.
Beyond the content, the event aims to strengthen connections across the Munich tech community. By bringing people together in a relaxed setting, Equal Experts aims to encourage shared learning, peer connection and longer-term collaboration between Munich-based practitioners and leaders.
“Legacy technology carries real cost and risk for organisations, if not a ticking time bomb, certainly slowing change and innovation,” says Phil Parker, Global Head of Technology Strategy & AI Delivery at Equal Experts. “Unloved, over time, much of the knowledge around these systems has been lost, meaning there has always been a reason just to leave it alone. We’ve found legacy modernisation to be a real sweet spot for AI – enabling fresh understanding and helping organisations finally tackle areas that have been deferred for many years in a practical, responsible way.”
The free event will take place in Munich on February 12, 2026 and includes food, drinks and dedicated time for networking.
Registration is free, and now open. Places are limited.
