Workplace Events Code of Conduct

Equal Experts are committed to providing a friendly, safe and inclusive environment that welcomes everyone at the events we hold and those we attend. This includes all network members, including employees, suppliers, associates, customers, guests and other third parties. By events we mean events like conferences, meetings, co-working & team days and any events with clients.

We want everyone to enjoy events and expect all attendees to act professionally and respectfully by adhering to the following behaviours:

  • Be welcoming. We are a community that welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds and identities.
  • Be kind. Harassment and other exclusionary behaviour aren’t acceptable, examples include:
  1. Offensive comments, discriminatory jokes and language relating to age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.
  2. Aggressive behaviour or language directed against another person.
  3. Unwanted physical contact, violence, sexual attention,  innuendo or intimidation.
  • Be respectful of other people’s views. We won’t all agree, all of the time.
  • Be a role model. Set a good example through your behaviour – take a stand if you think inappropriate jokes or comments are being made; intervene, if possible, to stop harassment or bullying and give support to recipients.
  • Be aware of your behaviour. Excessive or irresponsible alcohol consumption can put you and others at risk and may breach this code.
  • Be safe. Make sure you know how you will be getting home, and help keep your colleagues safe.
  • Be legal: Don’t possess or consume illegal substances.
  • Be vigilant: be aware of your surroundings, especially when discussing confidential information.

We  should conduct ourselves professionally and take reasonable care of our own safety and that of others.
